Summer is smoothie season for me, especially when it’s sizzling hot outside like it has been lately. Here’s a recipe for one that will fill you up and cool you down. It’s from Tosca Reno’s new book – The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook 2 – thanks for sharing!

This smoothie is called “Super Power” for a reason! It’s packed with protein, brain-boosting carbs and healthy fats – everything you need for your best day yet! If your morning is rushed, try making it the night before – just keep it covered in the fridge. You’ll have a super power breakfast waiting for you all ready to go!

Servings: 3 x 1 cup
Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients
1 cup/240 ml raspberries, fresh or frozen
1 cup/240 ml blueberries, fresh or frozen
1 very ripe banana, fresh or frozen
1 cup/240 ml plain low-fat yogurt
½ cup/120 ml freshly squeezed orange juice, including pulp
¼ cup/60 ml unsweetened natural protein powder
2 Tbsp/30 ml oat bran
2 Tbsp/30 ml flaxseed, cracked
1 Tbsp/15 ml natural nut butter

Method
1. Add all ingredients to a blender and process on medium speed until smooth, scraping down the sides to ensure that all ingredients get incorporated. Pour into glasses and serve.
