Name: Lisa Eirene
(110 Pounds and Counting)
Where she lives: Oregon
Weight: 144 pounds

How long it took to lose the weight: 1 year, 8 months or so.
How long she has kept it off: Over 3 years.
When Lisa’s doctor told her she was pre-diabetic, she knew it was time to take control of her health. Not only did she lose 110 pounds, Lisa went that extra mile (give or take a few hundred) and became an athlete! An amazing accomplishment… and definitely a Weight Loss WooHoo! – just FatFighterTV’s fun way of celebrating healthy weight. 😉
I was starting to have a lot of health issues. I had high cholesterol and my doctor wanted to put me on high blood pressure medicine. My body hurt all the time. The big turning point was when my doctor told me I was pre-diabetic. I had to make a change.
How Lisa shed the pounds:
I started swimming a few times a week for as long as I could. I counted my calories. As I started to lose the weight, I got better at swimming and I started introducing other exercises. I used the elliptical at the gym a lot. Eventually, I started running too.
Tips from Lisa:
My suggestion is to make lifestyle changes instead of dieting. Counting calories worked well for me and it worked because I could still eat things I wanted — just in MODERATION. Also, pick an exercise you like and will stick with!

I would say that the best part of losing weight was what I was able to accomplish after I lost 100 pounds. I started running and ran in the Hood to Coast Relay Race (197 miles) in 2010. I biked 55 miles in the Reach the Beach Ride in 2010 and in 2011, I participated in the Portland Century Bike Ride (did the 72 mile route). I love that I am now an athlete!
Wow – those are some huge athletic accomplishments, no?! Read more from Lisa on her blog – 110 Pounds and Counting.
