Dessert for Breakfast: Chocolate Almond Butter Oatmeal

It’s healthy comfort food for those cold winter mornings, with plenty of protein and fiber to leave you satisfied for hours. I’ve been having this Chocolate Almond Butter Oatmeal at work practically every day for the past few weeks. Not only is it filling and oh so good, it also takes care of my sweet tooth so I don’t have those crazy chocolate cravings later in the day.

1 Oatmeal Complete packet (Trader Joe’s)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2/3 cup water
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon sliced raw almonds

Mix oatmeal packet and chia seeds in a small bowl
Add water and mix well
Microwave until desired consistency is reached, 30 seconds to 1 minute
Add chocolate chips; when they melt, stir into oatmeal
Top with sliced almonds
