Nearly 24 million people in the United States now have diabetes – that’s an increase of more than three million in two years, according to a new report from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This means almost eight-percent of people in the U.S. have the disease, mostly type-2 diabetes which is linked with obesity, poor diet and lack of exercise.

Yes, it’s amazing how many more cases of diabetes there are in the U.S. The disease runs deep on my father’s side so it’s an issue close to my heart. I have actually seen 2 children at my school who have developed diabetes while in elementary school just in the past 5 years, actually.
It’s especially sad to see children with type 2 diabetes – wow, ladyjay, elementary school kids with diabetes is so disturbing.
