Gym Soap Giveaway

I always feel a little germ-laden after a workout at the gym. Even if members disinfect the mats and machines after they use them, (and you know not everyone does) I just can’t wait to wash my hands STAT and take a shower as soon as I get home.Â

The thing that gives me the bigget gross-out factor is the showers. I know that I could wear flip flops and most of the time I remember and bring them but there are those days I forget them and gosh you would think I am walking on hot coals with how fast I take a shower and jump out onto a towel after I am done. Yuck! Its almost as bad as walking through security at the airport. UGH!!!

hmmm…have to agree with the showers, I hate it when I accidentially touch the shower curtain and it plasters itself to my back!! AHHH!!!
I don’t like using the benchpress unless I have a big towel to put down…do not like touching others’ sweat!

Well for me it is the water fountains. That seems to be right where every super sweaty body heads after a work out. I know a lot of ppl just fill up their bottles there but ewwwww! I don’t!

I know what you mean about the mats. (I always bring my own mat.) The whirlpool is what grosses me out the most though. Even if everyone showers off first (and you know that not every0one does!) whatever sloughs off the body is in that disgusting foam that develops and clings to you!

Several things at the gym disgust me! First the locker room floor. When women are going to the shower with bare feet and then get out with those same bare feet! GROSS.
Second, watching the guy with sweat dripping, well pouring, off his body on the treadmill. Then he gets off and leaves it.. with the sweat still there!

The towels we wipe off the machines with creep me out, if they are supposed to catch all my germies, how many germies have they caught before me??? Too bad we couldn’t spray something on, that would air dry, thus killing the bugs and leaving out the necessity of a grimy towel…..AND not requiring the washing and wasting of water. Sahar get on that. There has to be a product like that out there.

When I forget my pilates mat and have to use one there! In pilates or yoga you are SOOOO close to the mat and I know they do not get cleaned between classes. YUCK!

It creeps me out when people walk through the gym with no shoes on or when they wear flip flops in the gym. I work out in the gym at my condo so it is between the pool and the outside but I always see people walking from the pool, through the gym, and then outside with no shoes one. YUCK! So many germs!!

I work out at the gym at my Apt. complex. And I have to say–it’s pretty clean. There aren’t ever many people in there. However, after I use the dumb bells, I run straight home to wash my hands. And I agree with dfarris–I have been on a treadmill next to a sweaty dude who sloshed some of his sweat on me while wiping his brow. Gross. Keep your sweat to yourself.

It has to be seeing the little, old ladies walking around naked in the lockerroom and then they get in the hot tub that way. Yuck.

Well, you just wipe it off. What else can you do? And let’s be honest, some of my sweat has probably leaped onto the person next to me at some point. It’s a side effect of running. You sweat a lot and you’re moving fast. It’s bound to happen. It’s not going to stop me from hitting the treadmill. I would much rather get sprayed by someone else’s sweat than have a big booty.

Definitely the mats! It’s just so gross to think of how many other sweaty backs have touched the mats. The showers are also pretty gross. I always remember to bring flip flops because I refuse to let my feet touch the shower floor!

I hate it when people don’t wipe down the machines after they have used them. It’s very gross to leave your sweat around for someone else.
