Just one can of Red Bull may increase the risk of heart damage, says a new study from Australia. When researchers looked at university students between the ages of 20 and 24 years old, they found drinking one can of the caffeinated energy drink increased the “stickiness” of the blood and raised the risk of blood clots forming – a cardiovascular profile similar to that of someone with heart disease.

You are a little angel on my shoulder ha ha!!
I hurt my back on Monday morning and have had physiotherapy, put cream on it, etc so that I can be ready for my workout today, and I thought this morning that a (one-off, cuz I never drink RB) can of Red Bull would energize me up for this, but now I’m having second thoughts.
You see I like my heart, in fact I love it, because my mum gave it to me
ha ha!
Take care,
Andrew
So glad you stopped by, Andrew – just in the nick of time!
Take care of that heart!
Although I’m an adventurous eater, I’ve always been too chicken to try any of the energy drinks. (I’m already relatively peppy, so I’m not sure I need any help in that department. On the other hand, might be good for a laugh to see how much I could accomplish after a long, tall energy drink… Nah.) Good reason for me to keep on being a chicken!
I can admit I love the PROMISE of red bull but dont drink it—-only because it does NOTHING FOR ME!
Miz.
Wow! I used to drink about 3 red bulls a day! Someone told me about the heart problems that energy drinks cause, and I cut them out cold turkey about 2 months ago. This study makes me realize that I really did the right thing!
Megan,
3 Red Bulls a day???! Yikes – glad you quit.
