Ever since I tried the new Starbucks smoothies – Vivanno Nourishing Blends – last month, I’ve been hooked. They’re yummy smoothies with lots of protein and fiber, and no artificial colors, artificial sweeteners or high fructose corn syrup – yay!
This week, three FFTV members will win a coupon to try a Vivanno for FREE – Banana Chocolate or Orange Mango Banana. And you don’t even have to pedal a bike for this one.
Here’s how to enter – just tell me in the comments below what ingredients you like to put in your smoothies. Me – I like to mix milk, chocolate protein powder, organic peanut butter, a banana, and sometimes a few flax seeds or oats – yum!
A few contest details: It ends at midnight EST this Friday, August 15… you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and a random number generator will pick the winners.
Thanks, Starbucks!

I like to put frozen strawberries, milk, and a little yogurt in my smoothies. I should try the flax seed, make it even healthier!
My favorite is using frozen blueberries, skim milk and, on occasion, a little Splenda. (I know, those who protest heavily against the sweeteners will gang up on me, but it keeps me out of more fattening things.) I hadn’t thought of putting in flax seed. Good idea.
(By the way, frozen mangos work well too.)
I put Starbucks version of green tea in my Vivanno smoothie and it was delicious!

I love caramel…have to have caramel and whip cream on any smoothy I drink (most of the time it’s a coffee drink)
Great that the smoothies don’t have any HFCS in them! I’ve been trying to cut out HFCS from my diet, and it’s so helpful when there are available options. Next step – I’m trying to get HFCS out of soda; anyone else interested? http://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/dear-high-fructose-corn-syrup-please-get-out-of-us-colas-thanks-america
Thanks for posting this – I don’t frequent starbucks so I had no idea! I love choclate protein power with bananas and strawberries, plus some frozen yogurt. I do put in flax seed when I have some.
Now I am hungry for a smoothie…
I always start with fruit juice. What I didn’t realize is there are virtually no vitamins in most fruit juices, even the ones without corn syrup. I’ve been on a quest and found ‘Simply Nutritious Morning Blend’ by R.W. Knudsen. It has Vitamin A-150%, Vitamin C – 200%, Calcium – 4%, Iron – 2%, Vitamin E 290%. This is far and away the most I’ve found in a fruit juice.
I haven’t been to a Starbucks in months…might have to sneak over…
I don’t make my smoothies from scratch (generally). I use the weight watcher smoothies, which have fiber so they are low points.
Yum! Sounds delicious!!
I don’t actually make smoothies
But when I buy them, I love fruit in them (with maybe one of those booster things thrown in
)
Chi,
Yeah, those booster things are fun to add – and sometimes it’s nice to have someone else make you a smoothie.
Great fruit combos, everyone! Another one of my favorites is milk, frozen strawberries, a banana, and protein powder – strawberry banana smoothies rock!
Frozen blueberries, yogurt, milk and protein …. mmmm. These look very yummy!
My brother introduced me to this one: raw cashew butter, coconut water, raw cocoa nibs, honey, frozen banana. Scoop of protein powder if available. Whoa.
With Autumn right around the corner, I opt for the apples cinnamon nonfat yogurt and oats route. Yummmeeee
I love strawberries, they go in everything smoothie related at my house. I love that Strawberries and Cream Frap at Starbucks, too..I’m scared to look at the nutritional info for it, though. Looking forward to trying a Vivanno.
Caroline,
I’ve never tried cashew butter before. That sounds like an amazing concoction!
fidofido,
That’s a combo I’ve never tried. Do the apples blend well?
I like to make ice cubes out of fruit juice and use those with some strawberries and bananas. It is a fruity wonder, I really like that for breakfast. Lots of great ideas posted here, too!
My smoothies include a small container of fat free yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, half of a banana, calcium fortified OJ, and ice.
John,
I like the idea of making ice cubes out of fruit juice – I wonder if that would work with milk, too…
Hi, all of the recipes sound delicious. Recently I tried Chocolate Rice Milk (they were out of chocolate soymilk) strawberry lowfat yogurt, l/2 a banana, and about 4 frozen strawberries and 4 icecubes. It really came out delicious.
Dear FF,
I am not so good in the kitchen. That’s why I am hoping to win your contest. However, after reading all the smoothie comments, I feel a bit inspired. I might actually go out, buy a blender and whip one up.
I’ve been hearing people rave about these things. I think I need to try one!
The only thing I put in a shake right now is protein powder mixed with water. Boooooring!
Gossipista,
Seriously, you don’t have a blender???!
Zandria,
Protein powder and water, huh? Yeah, you need to branch out!
My 13 year old son just started drinking smoothies, he just loves them too. I always put a bannana, blueberries and yogurt in the ones I make for him. Such a healthy drink for a growing young boy. Thank-you for the contest.
I love blueberries, bananas, strawberries, yogurt, and apple juice!
