These are no ordinary exercise machines. Nope. When you get on this four-person workout wonder, called Team Dynamo, you pedal together to drive a generator that helps power The Green Microgym – a new environmentally friendly health club that opened last week in Portland, Oregon.
The new gym uses a combination of solar and human power to run the place. It also features treadmills that use 30-percent less electricity, recycled flooring, and green workout classes.
Team Dynamo is kind of like the Fender Blender I told you about last month, only you get to make electricity instead of a smoothie.
Pretty cool, huh?

Very cool idea — hopefully, the bikers aren’t directly connected to the power sources for all of Portland! LOL!
Or, maybe it would be a new incentive for working out — want electric power? Then, you have to commit to a certain amount of pedaling hours
What a terrific idea! It’s encouraging to me when I see businesses caring about our environment. I hope to see more of it in the future.
Very interesting! Yes cool too!
This makes so much sense! When people are doing cardio exercises, they are producing energy. Why not use that energy to fuel the machine, the lights and TV at the gym? So efficient! So practical!

Colette,
I love it – electric power as an incentive to workout. Too funny!
