I think it is already in our food supply. I was just complaining to my DH the other night about the lack of flavor in the roast we had for Supper. I had to keep putting seasoning in it to give it any flavor at all and it had a spongy texture. This is not the first time, I have bought this type of roast. Also the other night I was making meatloaf and if it hadn't been for the tomato taste and onion, it would have tasted very flat. I know it's not me. It the same recipe I have always used and at my age, I should still have my taste buds intact. It is troubling to say the least. And don't get me started on the last tomato or orange we ate. I expect tomato to taste like that in the Winter, but this one was just odd in texture and taste.

I had to pose this question to some of my friends and all of us just dropped our jaw when asked this question. It almost made me rethink eating food all together knowing that cloned food may already be in our food supply. I agree and hope that they let me know which is which so I can avoid it. Now I have to go rent a plot of land in California to grow my own garden just to be sure but then again, they'll probably find a way to contaminate the land as well. I just want to eat healthy food and know what I'm eating.

I'm not a scientist, but I think cloning involves copying DNA. I wonder why this would be unhealthy? I don't like the thought of cloning ANYTHING just because I think living things have to die......but that's another issue all together.

Would I eat meat that was cloned? Maybe I already have and don't know it.

Obviously, we been altering food for centuries. This, in fact, may be the latest and greates, even though it sounds like science fiction. The problem is we just really don't know if this is good or bad. It would be nice if we were told about the additives, hormones, chemicals and now genetic alterations.

Yes, I'm a little skeptical of the whole cloning issue. I definitely think labeling is in order because I want to know what I'm eating and make my own choices.

I wouldn't eat it! They don't know enough about it yet and I am not going to risk my health for some cloned meat. EWWWW It just seems like that is stepping into dangerous territory.

I would probably eat cloned foods without much issue, but I find it very disturbing that FDA hasn't kept cloned and non-cloned animals separate. Doesn't give me any warm fuzzies about the people in charge of our food supply!

YUCK. The only way to avoid the cloned meat and dairy and the GE/GMO produce is to purchase organic. Unfortunately, GE/GMO food has been in our food supply for years and it is not labeled either, unlike in the EU where each GE ingredient must be indicated as such on food labels. If the FDA and USDA thinks it safe, then they shouldn't have a problem with labeling it truthfully. I don't foresee that changing, unless we stand up and fight it.
(GE= genetically engireed / GMO= gentetically modified organism)

A good film to watch is "The Future of Food" by Deborah Koons-Garcia. You can purchase it or rent it on Netflix. A great documentary!
