The procedure is only experimental right now, but it’s fascinating. Doctors at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia are doing a new kind of weight-loss surgery that passes a stapler down the patient’s throat to staple the stomach. It’s part of a trend to make surgery less painful, minimize risks and speed recovery. Read all about it here.

I became a surgeon because “A chance to cut, is a chance to cure!” Staple just doesn’t “cut it.” Oh sorry, it’s not about me, my bad
Glad they can make the operation easier on the patient!
Wow! I know modern medicine is an amazing thing but this surgery (or non-surgery should I say) is crazy! Just the way it sounds-passing a stapler down someone’s throat!
Yes amazing stuff.
I just hope that it stays a procedure for those who truly need it, with very high BMI’s, and does not become a “quick fix”. Because, even with this, people still have to change habits and lifestyle to maintain the weight loss.
Thanks
