There are plenty of times when it’s a no-brainer to know which foods have more calories and fat than others – say, celery compared to a Mrs. Field’s cookie. Other times, not so much. So, I thought it would be fun to take a little quiz from Consumer Reports. See if you know which restaurant food in each pair below has fewer calories and less fat.

wow. choosing the lesser of two evils is never easy, is it? It is unbelievable the calories some of these items pack. Eyeopening. Best thing I can do is just stay far away from restaurant and fast food. And on the rare occasion I do eat out, make smart choices.
Sheesh. So tricky! Hidden fat and calories everywhere!
I don’t know if I could ever in my entire life know a time that I would have to choose between 3 big macs and a whole deep dish pizza. The about of fat in the McDonalds stuff is amazing. This is a real eye opener as well as a heart attack waiting to happen.
Fun, with a little depression thrown in. I’ll take the lobster with broccoli on the side. No desert
There were a few surprises in this quiz!
to many surprises
Just so you know how weird I am, lobster is the only thing on the quiz that I would eat! Not at Red Lobster either. Have you motived how greasy their furniture is!!
Yes, Tom and Caroline – it’s definitely an eye opener, isn’t it? Yikes!
And Megan – be careful out there!
Dr. J – the only thing I would have in the quiz is the hot chocolate from Starbucks – but apparently, I would need to get a “tall” and share it…
I was shocked by some of these. I found out that a salad that I loved from Chili’s was loaded with calories but luckily it was so big that it served as two meals so at least I didn’t eat the whole salad at one meal and then eat again.

It’s amazing how many calories are in some of these foods, isn’t it? Good for you for splitting that salad into two meals.
