Besides working out with kettlebells, I also love the medicine ball, especially when I do slam ball exercises. Watch this video of an exercise from my Boot Camp class – it works your glutes, quads, hamstrings, triceps, and back… plus you get a cardio workout as well! PreFit personal trainer, Joel Baker, explains how to do it.

Gotta LOVE Slamball!!!
Except when you use a ‘bouncy’ medicine ball on a hard surface…15 lbs of fast moving medicine ball can do a number when it hits you on the nose…OUCH!
How many reps and sets do you do? That looks hard!
dfarris,
They were really hard the first time I did them, mainly because my arms were so weak! Usually when we do them in class, we alternate them with other exercises, so I’m not sure how many reps and sets we end up doing. Let me check with the personal trainers to see what it usually comes out to…
Good exercise. I was afraid it was going to be like dodgeball
DR – seriously, ouch!
Dr. Hubbard – So glad it’s not like dodgeball!
there’s actually an extreme sport called “slamball”

i’ll stick with the exercise version though
and a good idea to do it on a soft surface like you demonstrate – i hate the idea of getting clobbered by a bounce back
