I’m feeling festive, thankful, and giving, so I’ve decided to give away another set of my Simply Sahar*s wine charms – I make these as a way to relax when I’m not working on FatFighterTV or freelancing, etc.
Last week’s giveaway was a set of the Fitness wine charms; this week’s theme is Holiday Lights.
Remember, these are fun on any type of glass with a stem – wine, martini, margarita, as well as on the handle of a beer mug or coffee cup. And you can use them even if you don’t drink alcohol – sometimes I just want to fancy up a glass of sparkling water. They make a great hostess gift, or keep them for yourself!
Just tell me in the comments below how you try to brighten others’ lives during the holiday season. Me? I like to make wine charms and give them away to my loyal readers.
A few contest details: It ends at midnight EST this Thursday, December 18… you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and a random number generator will pick the winner.

how you try to brighten others’ lives during the holiday season?
I spend time with those that don’t have natural family supports to give them a sense of love and belonging.
Dear Random Name Generator!
I liked it better when you were called Santa, but I guess that’s progress for ya!
I usually bake holiday breads and cookies and bring them to my neighbors, even if I don’t know them very well. People don’t have as much time to socialize as they used to but it lets them know that they’re in our thoughts and hopefully makes life a little easier for them.

I thought it was “Santa Sahar”
I used to make paper chains for my kids. On each link there would be something to do, or think and talk about, to get ready for Christmas. Every day they would take a link from the chain and follow the directions, until Christmas eve. My ‘kids’ are now 33 and 30, so now they make the chain of ideas for them to do with their own families. Now I make a paper chain for us to share at work.
I do the baking and try to get around and check on the older neighbors, I know they are budget minded so treats and even wamrer foods are expensive to cook for just one- so if I make lasagne I take some over for them, or soup, or whatever and bring the mail to them- just excuses to make sure they are ok.
Wow, Sandy – you are so caring and generous! The world needs more people like you.
Mimi – I LOVE the idea of paper chains – I have not heard that before. That’s great that it’s a tradition your kids are passing down to theirs.
herblady – What a great idea – so thoughtful. You must be everyone’s favorite neighbor!
My daughter and I like to collect items for a needy family-one that I know is struggling but too proud to apply for any assistance-and leave the items (food, gifts etc…) anonymously from Santa. I think it is a good way to share the giving spirit and teach my child that is what Christmas is about-giving.
micaela6955 – That’s so great that you get your daughter involved with such a wonderful thing you do – it’s all about sharing and giving this time of year.
I am a member of the local chapter of Sweet Adelines, a women’s barbershop harmony chorus. We love to sing for others, especially during the holidays. I especially enjoy singing at nursing homes where residents don’t get the chance to get out much. They seem to enjoy our visit, but I think we get the greater benefit ourselves!
rlr260 – Oh, how fun is that??!! Sounds like it makes everyone feel good.
