As you can tell from reading this or if you know me at all, then you must know I LOVE chocolate and I’m happy to exercise more to make up for my indulgence. Now Rebecca over at Does This Blog Make Us Look Fat? has found a way to fit the Hershey’s Kiss Diet into her eating plan. She makes a good point:
The Kisses® are a good choice for me because you have to open each one. This takes time so it slowed the experience down.
So, how many Kisses does Rebecca savor? And how many calories are in each one? Find out here.
Then come back and tell me – does eating chocolate that you have to unwrap help you eat fewer pieces? It’s one of those mind tricks that definitely works on me – except sometimes it doesn’t always work on Dove chocolates… unless I hide the bag. I think they should individually wrap Peanut Butter M&Ms.

My Mom loves Hershey’s Kisses! I was reading a newspaper post yesterday about how to avoid weight gain over the holidays. It suggested don’t eat chocolate
Do you think they pay the writer for that sage advice?
I hadn’t really thought about it, but yes, I think having to unwrap individual pieces helps. I also think it helps to keep track of the calories. My problem is that whatever the wrapper says is the serving size, I tend to eat whether it’s 100 calories or 200 calories. I’m trying to train myself to not have more than 100 calories a day of chocolate. That’s the goal.
Dr. J – who would write such a thing! It’s a crime, really.
cathys997 – 100 calories max of chocolate a day is a good goal. I should do that, too.
I don’t know. 25 calories a whack for that little thing. I usually eat just a few chocolate chips or peanut butter chips. I mix them with a handful of those little cheese crackers so I have sweet and salty. Works for me. Or maybe little minature marshmallows and a few chocolate covered raisins.
eveh – Good idea to eat just the chocolate or PB chips with cheese crackers. They’d be great with nuts, too, I think.
