The first government survey of its kind finds one in 200 kids are vegetarian. The main reason those under age 18 are going meat-free? Concern for animals. The report says that concern may have something to do with watching YouTube videos that show animals getting slaughtered.

Wow – shocking! I like my meat too much to ever go meat free, but I could see my kids becoming vegetarians as they are NOT fans of the taste and texture of meat. So long as they’re staying nutritionally balanced as a vegetarian, I guess it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I know, cathy – this surprised me, too! But I guess if they are really watching those slaughter videos, it makes sense.
