I admit, sometimes I have a hard time getting motivated to exercise in the winter. Actually, I have a hard time doing much of anything in the winter.
But Rebecca over at Does This Blog Make Us Look Fat? apparently has a hard time exercising during ALL the seasons… and has many other reasons she avoids working out. What’s up with that??! Good news is she has found her top reasons to exercise – yay! I was worried.
What motivates you to exercise? For me, it’s mainly about stress relief and feeling good… especially in the winter.

I’m not motivated much either before I start exercising, but somewhere between mile 2 and 3 I find it
Seriously, willpower and motivation are built with doing it. That’s it, just doing it. Do we need motivation to brush our teeth? Most likely, we just do it. Sure we get benefits from it, same with exercise, but in the beginning of it all, just start doing it. Don’t worry about why. Worry about it afterward. It’s a lot more motivating that way
I have a hard time exercising in the winter as well. Luckily for me this winter has been very warm here in Southern California so I haven’t been slacking too much. Once I get started I always feel so good so when I have a hard time getting started I just think about how good I’ll feel afterward. That and I remember that bikini season is right around the corner!!

most days it is ONLY the knowledge Ill feel more energetic after…and I always do.
the hard part is getting off my arse to do it.
My motivation is knowing how good I’ll feel afterward-physically and mentally! I also “bribe” myself by saying just work out for 20 minutes, then usually end up working out for longer. I also find that planning your workouts, literally writing them on the calendar just as you would a dinner date, helps keep me committed.
In the winter when I had *zero* energy, what gets me to exercise is NOT wanting to feel like a slug with no energy, and wanting to get this weight off. I want it so badly, it makes me get off my butt and bike.
I think I just motivate myself because I want it so badly. My goals are so over the top sometimes but in the end I just know I can do it and I love how it makes me feel when I accomplish them.

My number one motivation is knowing that I will feel good emotionally after exercising. I’m addicted to yoga. It’s such a stress-reliever for me. The body changing results are an added plus!
