Whether you’re trying to lose or maintain your weight, do you count something to help you stay on track? Calories, perhaps? Points? Carbs? Or… what about calohydroints? That’s what they’re counting over at Does This Blog Make Us Look Fat?
Check it out and tell me what, if anything, YOU count. Me, I tend to focus on calories, protein, and fiber these days.

I count miles run and blessings received!
I pay attention to it all but I don’t necessarily count it all… I make sure I get a good balance of the good stuff (fiber protein) and make sure I am not way over on my calories or fat. But I don’t want to be too strict and we also cook a lot and well it is hard to count when you cook isnt it? so I do my best!
Like Karissa, I pay attention, but don’t count. I try to pay attention to my hunger, and eat a lot of produce, and as long as I’m still slowly losing, I don’t worry too much. I also cook my own food, so it would be difficult to estimate calorie or fat or…..
When I’m in my disciplined mode, I eat the same salad every day for lunch…tuna with no mayo, lots of veggies and greens, and a low cal dressing I make of balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard, and Splenda. I really watch carbs by not eating bread…that’s my downfall!
karissa – Now that you say that, I guess I really pay more attention than actually count… unless I know I’m missing my fiber goals or something like that.
Julie – Sounds like you’re doing all the right things and as long as you pay attention to what you eat and you’re still losing, keep doing what works for you, right?
Dr. J – those are both great things to count!
Sheri – Yum, that salad sounds delish!!
As a weight watcher I count the calories, fat and fiber in all I eat to reach my total points for the day. I also count all the water and other liquids I drink, and how much I walk in a day. And as I have mentioned before on this site, I lost 102 pounds since January of 08.
