If you don’t have a full 30/45/60 minutes for exercise, do you blow it off completely, thinking why even bother? I can get this way sometimes, but I’m getting better at changing that! Today one of my BBFFFs (Best Blogging Fitness Friends Forever
) – the wonderful and oh-so-wise MizFit – talks to us about breaking up your exercise into pieces that fit your schedule.
If you haven’t been to her blog before, you must check out MizFitOnline – it’s fantastic and filled with so much wisdom and support every day about eating and exercising and life.
And while we’re talking about exercise, let me tell you about today’s giveaway – Core Rhythms dance exercise DVDs. The workouts use Latin Dance Moves to raise your heart rate and tone your core at the same time. You get 4 DVDs that include Salsa, Samba, and Merengue dance styles. There’s even a Quick Workout for when you’re short on time. All are compliments of Core Rhythms.
To enter for a chance to win, just tell me in the comments – are you an all-or-nothing exerciser? Or do you squeeze in 10 minutes of exercise here… 15 minutes there? What works for you when you’re short on time?
A couple of things I do but need to do more often – I take 10-15 minute breaks to walk around my neighborhood (if it’s not too cold!), lift some hand weights, or do a few Pilates moves.
Remember, there’s a different giveaway every day this week at FFTV to celebrate my B-Day week, so enter them all! Get Red Carpet Ready here.
The contests run through midnight EST this Friday, February 13 and I will announce the winners over the weekend. Also, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and a random number generator will pick the winners.

I am definitely an all or nothing person. If I know I don’t have 1/2 hour to dedicate to a workout, I won’t bother. Not good, huh?
for strength training I have a short 20 min dvd I can always fit in. With cardio it is a little trickier…….if I don’t have 30 min -an hour, I’ll just do what I have time for. Throughout the day I try to do some jumping jacks or push ups when I’m feeling sluggish
Having 2 yr old twin tornados is my built in 24 hr exercise
Okay; I am definitely an “all or nothing” exerciser…
I do however walk 3 miles a day (if that makes a difference).
I know that it’s your birthday week, BUT…I really want this prize package and would love to win!!!!! This would be so cool (for me…did I tell you my B-day is coming up in a few weeks? (LOL))…Seriously, on March 4th I’ll be the ripe ole age of 35
Great Giveaway!!!!!

I try to walk on my manual treadmill during the news in the morning. I jump off at the commercials and get ready. When I’m ambitious I do that at night too. I have some Jillian Michaels dvds. I do them when I’ve been a bad girl and need to be punished.
Did I forget to tell you my birthday is tomorrow? Its a big one too. It ends in a zero. OMG
Very cool! Happy birthday btw!
THANKS FOR HAVING ME and happppy birthday week.
(dances off whilst tightening her core…)
No, Lisa – not good!!
Annette – Ha! Yes, I bet having 2 year old twins is quite the workout!
barbarabaker – That’s awesome that you walk 3 miles a day! And Happy B-Day early.
Happy B-day to YOU tomorrow! A big one, huh? Enjoy!
Completely an all or nothing girl! Happy Birthday, birthday girl!!
Thanks ocampo! Can’t wait for ice cream tonight!!!
I walk our dog around the apartments where I live every day and also try to go to the fitness center to walk some so I get at least 15 to 30 min. every day.
I’ll squeeze something in like the Gazelle or work on the ball but it’s hard because I like to be able to do at least 30 min. of something. But 10 min. is better than nothing.
Those exercise dvd’s sound so cool. Love Latin music.
I am an all or nothing kind of exerciser.
I love getting all of my exercise in one go, but because I have small children, I usually end up getting my work-outs several 20 minute increments throughout the day.
I used to be an all in kind of exerciser, but now I fit it in where I can. I run stairs while doing laundry, I find things to do during commercials, such as marching in place, jumping jacks, or wall pushups. I’ve learned any exercise is good exercise.
Me? I’ve got to do it all while I can, since I don’t have a lot of down time once I get home from work. If I can do it first thing in the morning or first thing when I get home, that works best!
I’d like to be an all-or-nothing exerciser, but that rarely happens. I really prefer to do one long hard workout, but since I rarely get the time to do that, I have to take 10 min here or 10 min there. But, it’s so much harder to motivate myself to workout that way!
Wow girliefriend – You definitely get creative! Good for you!
I’m definitely all-or-nothing, but more towards the nothing than the all, if you know what I mean!
I do, however, love to dance, so this interests me.
herblady – Hmmmm…. more towards the nothing than the all, huh?
What a fun way to get in the exercise!! I’m one of those people who squeeze in exercise whenever they can. I wear a pedometer to gage my level of activity and since I keep a log of my food I know when I need to step things up a bit. I would love to dance away calories, it would be a great way to have fun and exercise too.
housewifeheather – Pedometers really help, don’t they? You sound like you’re really in tune with your body – good for you!
