Since my birthday is coming up this week, I thought it would be fun to celebrate with all of you – my loyal readers/viewers – with freebies every day! I mean, it’s not a party without presents, right? Just stop by FatFighterTV Monday – Friday this week to see each day’s giveaway and enter for a chance to win. WooHoo! Let’s get this party started with today’s yummy offerings!
Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I think something sweet is in order. How about some rich chocolates without all the fat and calories? These Weight Watchers by Whitman’s Double Chocolate Mousse chocolates are really, really good! They are only 1 WW POINT and 53 calories per piece. But be careful, because like anything else, those points and calories can add up if you have too many. I suggest hiding them if you have no chocolate self control (see below)…
Up for grabs – 2 bags of the Weight Watchers Double Chocolate Mousse candies… so 2 winners!
Just head down to the comments and tell me how you keep from eating too many chocolates/chips/whatever your weakness food…
Me – I hide chocolate from myself in my jewelry chest. No, I’m not kidding. And yes, it really works for me! I trick myself to some extent – I think it’s just because the chocolate is not sitting right in front of me. Hey, whatever it takes, right?
Today’s contest ends at midnight EST tonight and I will announce the winners tomorrow so you can have the chocolate in time for Valentine’s Day.
The rest of the week’s contests will run through midnight EST this Friday, February 13 and I will announce the winners over the weekend. Also, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and a random number generator will pick the winners.

I track my food, and I keep the chocolates out of sight!
I buy items others like but I do not like..so there is the fact I do not like it but also keep it across the house if I do buy some candy and don’t buy things I have no self control with
That has to be the only WW candy I’ve not tried yet…looks delicious. I grab a cup of hot tea first…usually it fills me up and helps me forget I want the candy!
Well, my husband actually keeps an eye on what comes into the house since he’s the one that does the grocery shopping.
I was recently diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (stage 3) and so, my hubby doesn’t allow too much junk food, things with high sodium and nothing with a ton of protein…so, I guess you can say my hubby is the strength behind my “keeping to a program”…
Great giveaway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I have found the best way to keep me from eating too many snacky items is to portion it out into a bowl and not eat straight from the container. Sometimes I still find myself taking the whole container so it’s been a challenge to break that habit over the years.
I try not to buy chocolate anything. But I tend to sneak chocolate chips when I am craving chocolate so I have my husband hide them from me, sometimes I find them and sometimes I don’t but I am sure I burn some calories trying to find them right? Happy Birthday!
I indulged this weekend. We had gotten Hershey’s kisses for kids’ treat bags…….I just took 2 and walked away from the bag…..I put things deep in the pantry ….for me it’s out of sight, out of mind most of the time.
I don’t buy any chocolate anything. Which is not easy, because my youngest is a chocolate nut! But we do try and keep it out of the house.
This will sound crazy but when I indulge myself buying chocolate (Lindt White Chocolate Truffles) to keep myself from going hog wild I will eat one and put the rest in the freezer. They are not too good frozen and hard to bite into them so I don’t eat them but maybe one a week.
sandy – Smart. I should start buying things my husband likes instead!
Happy Birthday! It’s very generous of you to give *us* presents! Well, I have a strict rule I follow when a box of chocolates enters this house. I limit myself to ONE piece per day and I eat it very slowly. My husband limits himself as well but he pops the whole thing into his mouth and I get so mad at him because when I ask him what was in it, he never knows! LOL. He does the shopping too and at Halloween I tell him not to buy any kind of candy that I wouldn’t be able to resist.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPY BIRTHDAY FRIEND!
Happy Birthday, Sahar! I limit myself to 1 chocolate anything per day…very hard to do some days! I love the new format and look forward to each new addition!
I ask my hubby to hide the problem food for me!
If I’m chewing a piece of gum, usually something cinnamony, I can stay away, or if I brush my teeth, that will help. If it’s in the house, I have to put it up high, out of sight and a lot of work to get to..at least I have to burn a few calories before I eat what it is I’m after!
I keep from eating lots of sweets because luckily I don’t have a sweet tooth but I do have an addiction to Pepsi so the way I stop myself from drinking lots of it is to either not buy it or keep frozen bottles of water in the fridge b/c I love ice cold water. Another thing I found is that when I drink lemon water, it makes Pepsi taste nasty so if I drink a glass of that, I’m less likely to drink the Pepsi b/c it takes a while for my taste buds to adjust.
barbarabaker – Sorry about your diagnosis. Glad your husband helps keep you on track!
CPA Mom – Hot tea works for me, too!
Angie – It’s tough to break those habits, isn’t it? Sounds like you’re making progress, though.
Deb T. – Too funny that you have your husband hide them from you!
Happy Birthday to you! How nice of you to give presents out for you special day. I am currently following the WW point system. I seriously do not deny myself anything, but keep in mind that I only have a certain amount of points to use daily. I haven’t tried the candy that you are giving away yet. I hope I win so I can try them out.
Annette – You walked away from the bag – that’s awesome! I have a hard time doing that, which is why I have to keep chocolate in my jewelry chest.
Tamara B. – Freezing them – what a great trick! Those Lindt White Chocolate Truffles are good, aren’t they?
herblady – too funny about your husband! I could never do that – I mean, what if it’s something I don’t like? Gotta be sure it’s worth the calories first, right?
Hey Kansas Girl! Thanks for stopping by! Only 1 chocolate anything per day???? I am impressed.
Mimi – The higher you hide it, the more calories you will burn getting to it!
Lisa – a taste bud trick, huh? Nice.
kendrasue01 – Good for you for sticking to your points! Yes, these chocolates are quite tasty!
I keep my “office chocolate” across the office and take it to team meetings so others will indulge. Plus – I only have it for holidays.
I try to keep chocolate out of the house.
I keep it around all the time for my husband who sometimes needs a sugar lift because of diabetes but I don’t seem to crave it any more since retiring from my job. I guess you could say the stress of my job made me think I needed the chocolate. Laurel
Laurel – Too funny that your job made you think you needed chocolate! Thanks for stopping by.
yes, “out of sight out of mind” does work. i like to eat one square of chocolate at a time and that seems to work for me!
I have been trying to look at the serving sizes on packages, so when I want some chocolate, I keep myself limited to the serving size instead of eating the whole package at once.
I give it to my kids, and ask them to hide it for me
My downfall is potato chips, the kettle fried, really, really crispy ones. OK, I’m drooling now! Anyway, I found if I buy the small, single serving size bags, I will pour half the bag into a very small bowl (which makes it look like there’s more), then save the rest for another day. The smaller bags are more expensive per serving which helps me not buy as many, I’m a penny pincher from way back! Oh – and Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Sahar!! I’m sure the earth was smiling when you graced us with your entrance
DeeAnn S – Yum! Those kettle chips ARE yummy, aren’t they?! I’m impressed that you can save half a bag for another time – good for you!
Mel V – Yep, it works until I remember where I put them.
Jean F – That sounds like it would be fun for them!
Thanks for the kind words, Dr. J!
Sahar,
My birthday is this week also. My age? Just take yours and double it
Happy Birthday
I keep temptation foods in the pantry. Somehow, out of sight, out of mind works for me. And my birthday is next week.
Dr. Hubbard – Happy Birthday to you, too! What day is yours? My actual B-day is the 11th.
rlr260 – Happy B-Day next week to you!
Happy Birthday, a little early! Let’s see, chips are my weakness — specifically, potato chips. To keep from eating them, I just don’t buy them. At all. Honestly, I can only buy them if we’re having a big party or something, when I know most of them will be eaten, not by me! I have more willpower when it comes to chocolate, believe it or not. I love it, but at least it can be in the house with me at the same time, and I don’t need to eat it.
Happy Birthday!
I tend to buy chocolate in singles, but I do have a bag of Dove dark chocolate in the cupboard. So far I haven’t opened it, which is my control mechanism. If I over-indulge when I do open it, I can always take the left overs to the office.
I only eat dark chocolate since it’s healthier than other kinds, but sometimes I can get a little carried away with it. I like to keep grapes in the refrigerator so that if I want just a nibble of something, I make myself take the healthier fruit over too much chocolate.
What a nice way to celebrate your birthday with everyone! Thanks for the giveaways. And have a great birthday!
cammy – I miss the days when I could take my extras to the office! I would buy a bag of something I was craving and just have a few then share the rest – it was perfect!
Hi Mary Ann – I just stopped by your blog and saw you’re in Leawood. I’m from Lawrence!
I actually don’t buy them anymore. Whenever there are some chocolates in the house, they were probably given by someone. I usually eat a piece or two and then give them away to my nephews and nieces whenever they come to the house.
Chocolate is my total downfall. I love it all!
So, to trick myself to think I”m getting a special treat I like to set out a pretty plate and add how ever much of the chocolate I”m allowing myself for the day. When it’s gone, i put the dish away and I tell myself I’m done.
Oh, and Happy Birthday Sahar! Miss those old KAKE days! thanks for all the great info on your website!
dmarie – Who is this? I don’t recognize the email address – please email me and reveal your true self.
Like others, usually I’m keeping track of points. But when all else fails, if I eat a bag of WW candy, I’m still ahead ofthe game instead of regular candy!!!
Happy Bithday!
Thanks RussianBlondie!
Sounds like you have a good strategy.
Hi..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR…
vkuttima – Thank you!
