You may not want to count on a multivitamin to keep you from getting a serious illness. The largest study ever of older women who take multivitamins finds the pills do nothing to prevent common cancers or heart disease. The findings are similar to recent disappointing results in men. Research has focused on cancer and heart disease in particular because there’s proof diets full of vitamin-rich foods may protect against those illnesses. But pills may not do the trick.

I guess we better just stick to food in their purest forms. Tastes better than a pill too!
This is a tough one, isn’t it? We’ve been taking vitamins since those Flintstones were part of our daily breakfast.
Since it’s not a break the bank thing with money, I still take mine. I do not take everything every day, but I take a multi, C and E almost every day. I also buy from reputable companies. I probably get most of it from food, sunlight, etc, but it’s in the doesn’t do any harm camp for me at the moment. There are so many variables. I do not look to make up for bad habits with additional stuff, like vitamins as I don’t think bad habits can be balanced out by good ones. However, if you are already in the good habit camp, keep taking the Flintstones
I take a multi-vitamin every day – always have, for as long as I can remember. I figure it’s got to have some benefits. But I’m in the good habit camp for sure most of the time.
