She’s trained super stars like Cindy Crawford and Jennifer Garner to get in tip top shape before their big events. Now celebrity personal trainer, Valerie Waters, shares her techniques in her book, Red Carpet Ready. I have three copies to give away!
I thought since the Oscars are just around the corner – Sunday, February 22 – it would be fun to talk about movies instead of the usual diet and fitness stuff on FFTV. It’s my B-Day week and I can do what I want, right?
So, which movie would get your vote for Best Picture… and why? Tell me in the comments below to enter to win a copy of Red Carpet Ready.
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
- Frost/Nixon
- Milk
- The Reader
- Slumdog Millionaire
I can’t believe I’ve only seen one of the five! I need to get to the theater fast!
Remember, we will have a different giveaway every day this week here at FFTV. The contests run through midnight EST this Friday, February 13 and I will announce the winners over the weekend. Also, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and a random number generator will pick the winners.

No idea. I haven’t seen any of them.
Frost/Nixon. Such a facinating character study!
Haven’t seen any of them but I have heard great things about Slumdog Millionaire so that would get my vote. Great giveaway!
Many great b-day wishes for you (forgot to say that yesterday).
Even though I haven’t seen any of them I guess I would vote for Benjamin Button, because I really want to go see it.
Happy birthday week! I live a pathetic life and have seen NONE of the movies! I do hope to see Slumdog Millionaire soon, though, so I’ll through it my vote.
Thanks, cathy! Glad to know I’m not the only one who needs to go to the movies!
Just_Kelly – That’s the ONE movie of all these that I have actually seen! It was so good – so many things I didn’t know about that time.
Thanks, Angie! Slumdog Millionaire is one my husband and I really want to see – maybe this weekend.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (it’s the only one I seen)
Slumdog Millionare. Easy. It’s like “The Little Engine That Could”. The fun, made on a shoe string budget film that deserves to win … if only to inspire more film making just like it.
Benjamin Button was too long. The Reader too depressing. Sean Penn deserves recognition for Milk … haven’t seen Frost/Nixon, but it’s on the list — if only for Matthew McFadyen.
Slumdog Millionaire is my pick. It is very interesting and such a great love story. It also has 10 nominations for Oscars and rightly deserves all of them. Laurel Herrington
Happy Birthday!!!! The only one that I have seen is Benjamin Button…it was a good movie, just very long though.
I am embarrassed to say I haven’t been to the movies in about 4 yrs!!! I think the Benjamin Button movie looks awesome from what I have seen of the previews
Okay…I am officially boring!!! I haven’t seen any of them!!!! But I can’t wait to watch them all on DVD!!
Wow – you’ve seen all but one! I’m so jealous. I loved Frost/Nixon – the only one I’ve seen so far…
Hey, are you in Columbus?
4 years – wow! Do you watch them on DVD?
I haven’t seen any of them, but I think I would pick Slumdog Millionaire because it’s the one I want to see the most.
I’m a screenwriter, and what they did in SlumDog was expose the world to reality in all its horrors, wrapped in a story of hope, of freedom, what we all desire in our hearts. The true genius of a film is did it move you, still an emotion enough to push you to action or did it simple amuse or entertain you, as so many only try to do. I think it is time to recognize that India/Bollywood has a thriving film industry, and award Slumdog Millionaire the nod.
And by the way, Happy Birthday Sahar!
Do I win?
Dawn – I really want to see it, too!!! I’ve heard such great things about it.
I don’t get out to the movies too often, but I’ll go with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button for its intriguing concept. I heard the CG effects were amazing.
This year’s best film nominees are all wonderful and relevant movies. It’s difficult to pick just one so I’m going with my two favorites – Benjamin Button and Slumdog Millionaire. And can I just say that I think Brad Pitt or Sean Penn should get the Oscar for best actor because of their amazing performances.
Maudrey – I have not seen either one of those but want to see both! I love Sean Penn – he is so talented.
I haven’t seen any of them but from what I know and have read, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Slumdog Millionaire walks away with it. Everyone loves an underdog!
Benjamin Button will be right at it’s heels though; looks like some outstanding work went into that movie.
