Do you check calories at fast food restaurants before you order? Most people don’t. New research shows out of 4,311 people buying food at McDonalds, Burger King, Au Bon Pain, or Starbucks, only six looked at the nutrition information the restaurants have – that’s one-tenth of one percent. Researchers say the best way to get the information out is to post it somewhere really visible, like on menu boards.

Only six out of 4,311 looked!! How did the observers manage to stay awake to notice the six? I suggest they brand the calorie count onto the bun!
Good idea, Dr. J – brand all foods with the calorie counts. Why didn’t I think of that?
Checking the calories at McDonald’s is the LAST thing I want to do. I’m just too afraid to know….
I think the first hurdle is to make sure the calories the restaurants claim are actually right…and when they advertise things as a fat-free, etc. they really are.
So true, hb – a lot of that info is not accurate, unfortunately.
