Do you ever forget how much water you’ve had for the day? I know I do. This cool, new Intak water bottle by Thermos comes with a rotating dial that lets you keep track of how many bottles you drink a day. It holds 24 ounces and it’s BPA-free. I’ve been using one to help me and my scatter-brain-ness (new word!) and it’s just what I needed.
Want to win one? Just tell me in the comments how you keep track of how much water you drink a day. How well does your method work for you?
A few contest details – it runs through midnight EST this Friday, March 20, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and a random number generator will pick the winner

I usually try to keep a paper log since I havent really found anything better, but that doesnt work to well because I tend to forget to track it every day. The bottle sounds like a super idea though. Love the site!
just by memory and by bathroom visits- haha…seriously just try to remember
cool bottle! I put a gallon jug at the start of each day on my kitchen counter. I drink a large glass or two with each meal or snack and in between meals when I’m hungry. Since water is about all I drink….except my morning coffee and afternoon green tea……I usually get in close to the entire gallon each day.
I usually just make tic-marks on my calendar, a method that doesn’t work so well when I’m not at my desk.
I don’t keep track at all so a bottle like this would help me kick start that part of my “new life” (never say diet, say CHANGE YOUR LIFE). Thanks!
I love my red water bottle and take it wherever I go. I fill it up breakfast, lunch and before dinner during the day. This gets me 9 cups. I fill it up a 4th time when I do aerobic activity.
One thing I was thinking about trying on a cold day where I like to drink tea is wearing 8-10 bracelets on one wrist. I read this and thought it a great idea!! After each cup of water just move a bracelet to the other side to keep track.
I would love this water bottle!!! Oh please pick me.
I keep a tracker of my daily intake, both food and water and I log it in when I am finish drinking the water that is in the bottle. Two bottle is about 6 glasses of water.
Cool water bottle. I just know how much I drink because my water bottle is 4 cups/glasses worth and I keep track in my head.
I buy a certain amount of 1.5 liter water bottles a week, so I only know how much I’ve already had by how many are left. It’s not an ideal solution, but it works.
DarylG – Yes, I’m forgetful, too – and easily distracted! Thanks for stopping by – glad you are enjoying the site.
Sandy – ha ha – I am cracking up at your comment!
Wow, Annette – a whole gallon! Nice work! And you have a great way to track how much you have.
housewifeheather – I have heard the bracelets (or rubber bands) system is a good one. Thanks for the tip!
janisz – That’s great that you track both what you eat and drink. Does it help you?
The problem is I don’t track it!!! And I need to!
I reuse Gatorade/water bottles and try to refill them throughout the day…I always forget.
I’m a teacher. I use a big table instead of desks. I line up the little bottles, and drink one every two periods. My students laugh at me but they know they get a bathroom break too! I want to be more green, so the bottle would be great.
I have two different jugs that I fill with half the water that I should be drinking through out the day. One stays in my work fridge and one is at home. That way I know that I am drinking enough water. I don’t use plastic water bottles (I feel they can be such a waste, plus, kinda expensive!)
I have a great way to keep track, though it’s my friend Sue’s idea. She has eight beads strung on a string so that they can move up and down. Keep the string around your water bottle and move the beads as you drink your 8 oz. It’s a little hard to expain but it’s very cool and works well.
I try to keep track in my head but that just doesn’t work, I always seem to forget anyways! This looks like a great bottle!
I don’t officially keep track but I have to drink a gallon of water a day for a medical condition and I know I fill my half-gallon pitcher twice a day but this bottle would be a great way to remind me to drink up!
I just guess! I could really use one of these
Ashley V – It’s hard to remember, isn’t it?!
That’s awesome, Myra! So cute that the students get a bathroom break, too.
I just put little marks on my desk calendar–but I’m not always at my desk so it doesn’t work to well.
Kelly F – Good idea to keep one at work and one at home.
I just drink whenever I pass by the kitchen sink. Makes it very easy.
Barbara
ladyjay – your bead system sounds very cool and so original.
I don’t really have a way of keeping track. We have a water filtration cooler at work and I just keep filling up my glass and on the weekends I hardly drink water at all.
skynkatesmom – I’m not sure if I’m forgetful or just easily distracted… or maybe it’s both…
LOL Suekey!
herblady – Pitchers – another great idea!
Barbara – So, how often do you pass by the kitchen sink?
Diane – Uh-oh – not much water on the weekends?
So, Ali – Are you a good guesser?
I don’t really keep track. I know I drink alot but I should keep track I guess.
I keep a liter bottle with me.
I set out six water bottles each morning and that is how I keep track of how much water I drink everyday.
What a great idea – and really so simple! I have a pad of post-it-notes by my desk and make the old fashioned little stick marks so I know how much I’ve drank. The post it notes works well because I stick it on my book when I go to lunch and when I go home!
I have a 32oz container that I make sure I drink twice daily. I usually only drink water and I always have my canteen nearby, so for me, drinking enough water is not too hard.
I really don’t drink that much water. Not that I don’t try to, I keep a bottle on my desk but by the end of the day I didn’t drink that much.I tried buying crystal light which has helped a ton.I’m doing weight watchers now which has a place to mark how much water you drink. That’s helped a lot to since every time you eat or drink something you have to keep track. The thermos is a great idea because you can track on weight watchers later instead of luggin around a journal.
Yeah, pitchers are great if you’re at home, but if you’re at work or on the road, it’s not so easy. The bottle is a great way to make sure you drink water. I know a lot of people say they don’t like the taste of their tap water, but both Pur and Brita make pitchers with filters right in them and you can replace the cartridges and it’s a LOT cheaper than buying bottled water. Also helps the environment and you don’t have to worry about BPA in the bottles.
I fill up a 1/2 gallon jug in my fridge every day. sometimes i fill it up twice but at least once.
ska8rmom – Sometimes just the simple things like post-it notes and stick marks are all you need.
I place 2 1itre bottles on my desk at work every day and then drink 2 cups of tea 8oz. I also drink some mmore water during workouts and when i get home at night.
I fill a gallon pitcher every morning and put in the fridge. Try to drink most of it each day.
I have an 18oz. bottle that I fill every morning when I walk my dog. I can usually drink all 18oz. during the walk and then I fill it up at least once or twice more during the day. So I know I get at least 36oz. to 54oz. a day. I’m better doing this on warm days. Laurel
I don’t keep up with how much I drink, and some days it’s a problem! I’ll realize just before bed (when I’m SO thirsty) that I haven’t had enough to drink that day.
I usually try to fill up my 32 oz mug that I keep at work and drink 2 of them a day. Sometimes I get so busy that I don’t always drink them. When I am at home I fill up my 22 oz mug and try to at least dry 1 of those if not 2. I think that the rotating dial that helps you keep track is a wonderful idea, since most of us forget how many glasses we have drank during the day.
Funny a friend and I were just talking about how bad we are at forgetting to drink water during the day. Maybe if I win this I’ll remember! So I guess my answer to your question is I don’t but I need to.
You know my problem… I’m never thirsty! So this would be perfect for me to force myself to drink!
I’m a nursing mom and drinking water helps keep my supply up. I just keep a pitcher on kitchen counter that holds about 5 cups of water and I fill it about twice a day. I would fill your handy water bottle about 3 times a day to meet my fluid requirements. More if, I’m working out that day!
I’ve tried the rubber band on the water bottle (but I always forgot/lost the rubber bands!)
Now I just rely on my memory!
I usually drink a glass or two of water at home in the mornings — then I try to drink 1 or 2 20-oz bottles at work.
Wow! What a cool gadget! I have no method for keeping track of how much water I drink, though I really should. I know I drink at least 1-2 bottles at the gym each morning (5 days per week), then I drink 3-5 large (24+oz) glasses through the rest of the day. I really should keep track.
eant – is that really you??? I am so excited you are here!! Drink up.
Good plan, Tamara B!
flower2179 – Glad the Crystal Light is helping – whatever it takes, right?
Laurel – That’s great that you can drink 18 ounces on your walk. You’re way ahead for the day so early!
cathy – just before bed is the worst time to drink up! I’d be up every two hours.
Judy – yes, it’s so easy to forget!
waterlogged – Don’t know why I never thought of a pitcher – good idea.
I keep a 16 oz water bottle with me everywhere I go and keep refilling it through out the day. I must go through about 4 at least!
I don’t really have a “method” but I can tell how much water I am drinking by how many trips I make to the bathroom, haha. I also always try to have a water bottle by my side at all times of the day.
I keep a 16 oz water bottle with me all day long and try to fill it up all throughout the day. Whenever I’m on the road I try to drink a full one in my short drive but I don’t really keep track. This bottle you posted about would be so awesome!!! Pick me pick me
I just try to keep track in my head. I usually lose track though.
I fill 4 liter bottles before bed each night, and try to finish them all the next day. I don’t refill again till the next night, so I always know where I am.
When I used individual bottles, I just saved the bottles on the counter till I was done for the day.
What a great tool. I usually have a bunch of water bottles hanging around. I don’t really count…
I start out with the best of intentions by keeping track on paper. Needless to say, other things get in the way and I wind up not drinking the H2O and not keeping track of it. This is an awesome idea!!! It sounds like it would help me immensely!
Gina
I usually use a 20 oz. glass bottle at work, a buy water at the gym and guess when I am at home. I do keep track in my food journal also.
Broke Bettie – Wow – that’s a lot of water!!! Good for you.
ha ha tobi1128 – I know what you mean!
lauramich68 – I can never remember!
I have to admit that I don’t drink near enough water in a day’s time. I only drink when I’m thirsty. I really need a good method of keeping track and sticking to it!
I’m not real consistent in drinking water, but when I make an effort to drink, I use the Weight Watchers 32 oz water bottle. I try to drink two bottles full a day.
Nothing schmancy. I just try to refill my water bottle at least two times during the day, and I only dring water in the evenings anyway.
Currently, I bought a gallon size jug and fill it with ice and water but it doesn’t allow me to track how much water I’ve drank so it doesn’t really help. My goal though is just to drink more water instead of Pepsi.
I don’t drink enough water, so this might give me more incentive and also help me keep track to make sure I’m drinking enough.
I drink a lot of water, but don’t really keep up with it like I should…I do buy bottled water, and drink a few per day, and also pour water from the jug and drink glasses of ice water…this cool Intak water bottle is just what I need!!
Good goal, Lisa!
I don’t have any idea. I know it’s not enough though. I really really need one of these!
I drink Propel in individual bottles so I know how many bottles I drink per day, but if I want plain water or another beverage, I don’t ever know how much I drank. Love this bottle
I fill 2 20 oz bottles at the start of the day. Hopefully, I’ll refill them at some point. But sometimes, I can’t remember if I did. This bottle would be great.
I drink out of Sigg water bottles almost exclusively. I know I need at least 3 of them, I often exceed. I’d love this waterbottle because then I’d know the full cumulative amount of water that I’ve drunk.
I can’t/don’t keep track of how much water I drink. I work in home health and am traveling between 300-400 miles a day. I know I don’t drink enough. It’s hard to drink water and empty the container without hitting the visor or inside roof of the car. Haven’t found one that I can use a straw with either. Need something that I can drink from while I am driving.
I usually only drink one or two water bottles a day (I know…it’s pretty bad). Getting this would really motivate me to drink more because I would be keeping better track of my drinking habits.
This is a great idea! I use a Sigg water bottle so I usually make myself drink at least 3 of them each day. Some days are better than others!
N-
Water water everywhere! haha… I fill a bottle up and then take it to work – I am a teacher so some days it is hard to drink all that water – let along track it all…I try and remember what I have had to drink but I probably miss some…a smart bottle…now that would be cool!!!
mindyl – At least you know you need more H20, right?
Beth – I keep hearing about the Sigg bottles, but have not tried them. They seem very cool.
Brenda – Wow, that’s a lot of traveling! yes, you definitely need a car-friendly bottle.
pebs27 – That’s it? Just one-two bottles, huh? At least you know you need more.
I use a 62-ounce jug which I fill every morning and drink til it’s gone!
I drink alot of water with my medications but I do not keep track of how much
I keep my cup on top of my water cooler.
I am good with the beginning of the day.
Then forget water till evening.
I need help!
I should be drinking at least 3 of those
24 ounce containers.
Would love to win one. However where do I get one?
Christina – You can actually order one of the Intak water bottles here on Amazon.
I don’t keep track at all, I need to drink more. I start to drink more at the wrong time, late evening; so I am up at least 4-5 times.. I am pathetic.
