In honor of Earth Day, this week’s giveaway is this very cool Gypsystyle yoga mat bag made of 100% recycled plastics. Not only is it earth-friendly, it’s super cute! Not to mention – stylish, lightweight, and water-resistant.
So, since it’s all about Mother Earth this week (and should always be, right?), here’s how to enter to win the Gypsystyle bag – Just tell me what you’ve been doing to be more green. My latest thing is to drink out of a re-usable water bottle and to “walk” my errands whenever I can.
A few contest details – it runs through midnight EST this Friday, April 24, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and random.org will pick the winner.

Cute, cute, cute bag!
My green efforts right now are largely centered on not buying things. I don’t have to worry about recycling it if I don’t have it in the first place.
And definitely yes to the re-usable water bottle!
Given to me by my university, I use my reusable shopping bag when I go to the grocery store or to one of the convenient stores or grab n’ gos on campus. Or I simply just go without the plastic when shopping for just a couple things at the store.
I’m trying to recyle more…aluminium cans!
Great giveaway. Thanks for having it.
I always carry either a canvas tote or mesh string bag with me, to avoid taking a plastic bag.
I buy local as often as possible. Even with yarn, since I’m lucky to live near several fiber farms.
We had solar panels installed!
commute by bike! no gas used.
filter water, of course.
reuse all plastic bags. I never buy trash bags.
I use a recycable water bottle everywhere I go, use a cloth totebag and take it with me when I’m out and about and have planted lots of trees and schrubs to be greener inthe yard also have made a compost pile
I love the bag! I wouldn’t have a use for it, but I could give it to my hubby : )
I’ve gone green by having energy saving windows installed in my home and more recently, by taking over the duties of “recycling lady” at my school when the previous teacher left to have surgery.
I compost some of my garbage to use in my garden.
I have been taking all my recyclable materials to the center for ages, and now I’m also working to take the paper and cardboard from work as well. I also take along a bag on my daily walks and pick up litter as I go. For some reason, I get a lot of funny looks, but I feel better when I’m done!
i am using reusable cups for my coffee- instead of paper. it was getting out of hand and i am so happy I switched! thanks for the chance to win!
Besides using resusable bags at the grocery store, I have cut back on water bottles and now have a stainless steel one.
Love the bag!!! My two recent things…I use reusable water bottles and Greenworks cleaning products.
I’ve been recycling newspapers and plastic bottles and containers. And I’ve been trying to take shorter showers by turning the water off while I’m shaving or soaping up. These things are easy to do but can really help.
Thanks, Mike Iuen Wichita, KS
I make/combine my own natural laundry & dish detergent (Got the recipe from some bloggy friends)My kids now call me the “bag” lady when I got to the store. (Yes, I bring all kinds of reusable totes) I have 2 extra recycling bins-It is amazing what we can recycle!
Love the yoga mat bag. I have the mat-not doing so well on the yoga. These thing take time:)
My going green consist of the basics like recycling as much stuff as possible ( I started a program at work as well). I also make sure that items are unplugged and/or off when not in use. I have been trying to buy super sized/bulk items to save on cardboard and packaging. I am more picky about items that I purchase and do go to resale shops.
I love the yoga bag! It’d go great w/my new biodegradable yoga mat!
I go green by encouraging my co-workers to recycle since it’s something my family has done for years. I actually sometimes have a pile of their plastic bottles on my desk at the end of the day to take home and recycle b/c recycling is not available in their neighborhood. I’ve even recruited two of my managers to help me recycle items from our boxed lunches after we had a group conference call at the office one day.
I also use cloth grocery bags…it’s cut way back on the plastic bags from the grocery store!
Does getting the flu count? Well, actually I had it 4 weeks ago, so my color is within the normal range again!
We have made a compost pile and we have planted a few trees
I like to use the efficient light bulbs. I hope this doesn’t have to be about food. I love Yoga too!
I have been trying to recycle in the newsroom.

Reusable anything, and I’m trying to eliminate plastics where I can. I use butcher paper or waxed paper bags for food storage, glass jars for pantry storage of rice, popcorn, and so forth. I buy locally if it’s available locally and ask if I can do without when it’s not.
I make sure to take my reusable bags when I shop and we recycle.
I’m recycling everything possible. My husband and I have been planting trees lately too. We’ve been having fun choosing different types to plant on the hill.
We actually had a picnic outdoors with NO disposable items. We brought dishes, glasses, and cutlery, simply washed it when we got home. No trash. I buy nothing disposable except feminine products.
I GIVE BAGS I GET AT STORES TO A RESALE SHOP THE REUSES THEM
FF–I have been taking my canvas totes to the grocery store, Target etc. And I just got the energy efficient light bulbs, although I don’t really like them because they aren’t very bright.
prplrush – I can’t remember the last time I saw clothes hanging out on the line – good for you!
sito – How well does butcher paper work for food storage? Never thought of that…
cdziuba – LOL on the feminine products!
kathy55439 – good idea to give the bags to a resale shop!
Gossipista – I bet your canvas totes are super cute!
I have some energy efficient light bulbs that are BRIGHT – you need to upgrade!

I recycle everything I can, use the canvas grocery bags, and use a plastic water bottle instead of buying a bottle each time I want something to drink
We got rid of our car a few years ago and walk or bike most places. Not only is it Earth-friendly, but it also saves us a lot of money.
We have a large family, so we recycle everything we can and still only need the one rubbish bin a week (the government would let us have two because of our family size).
We also use re-usable bags when we grocery shop.
we recycle and compost, I use my tote bags for shopping, wash in cold water and during summer hang laundry outside to dry. we use our bikes when ever we can.
I have been setting up and utilizing my rain barrel more for watering and collecting
I use reusable shopping bags
Planted an organic vegetable garden and am riding my bicycle more.
repurpose and use tote bags
I want to try to recycle more and more!
moonduster – wow, you really got rid of your car? That’s awesome!!! Do you ever miss having one?
LittleEagle – I want a vegetable garden! (don’t have much of a yard right now…)
parkerozgood – Is it hard to set up a rain barrel?
I just started the “green” lifestyle this year so I’m pretty much still a virgin to it, but learning so much from blogs like this and other websites. I started recycling everything I can and bring them to a recycling place we have in town (glass, cans, newspapers, magazines, ect.) I also dry my clothes on the clothes line to save on electiricy and propane which my dryer runs off of. I never leave tvs or lights on at night or when we are not home. I buy “green” products whenever I can. And there is alot more that I am learning little by little that I am starting to do, but the ones I listed I make a habit of and do them religiously.
I ride my bike to as many places as I can. I also line dry all my clothes.
I have been practicing the “Three R’s”: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
I’ve been bringing my own bags to the store and refilling water bottles.

Wow Geri – for someone who’s just started, you’re already doing so much!
Chrysa – The new Three R’s, huh?
I planted trees, changed all the light bulbs to the new green kind, installed water filters so I don’t buy bottled water, and I use all green cleaning products from Simple green. Tote bags are used instead of grocery bags also.
I’ve been using reusable water bottles and walking or riding my bike when ever possible!
Whenever i leave the house or to bed, I unplug my TV. When I go grocery shopping I use reusable bags. I take the bus when I have to go places. I use reusable water bottles.
Kelly Ann – I love how you and other commenters are planting trees! I have a small basil plant – does that count?
Mishia – I’m so glad to finally have nice weather – I “walked” my errands today!
