It doesn’t take much for the benefits of a sports drink to start working. A new report finds the high-carbohydrate beverages can boost athletic performance, and their effects may begin as soon as they hit your mouth. Researchers say sports drinks may send signals to the brain through receptors in the mouth.

I don’t drink them myself, but what a great marketing angle: “The Powerade Swig. Just a gulp’ll do ya!” Let’s see how long before someone starts to sell one to two ounce servings. Wait … someone else?! Um … gotta go. I’ve got marketing plans to draft!
