Need a refreshing break from plain old water? Want to add a little sparkle to your summer beverages? Then you are going to love this week’s giveaway! First, let me say I am a big water drinker – plain water, water with lemon, sparkling water, you name it… as long as it doesn’t have any sweeteners or anything artificial in it – so I was thrilled to try these new R.W. Knudsen Sparkling Essences. Yum!
Each Essence is sparkling spring water infused with organic ingredients – basically, the ingredients are brewed in the water then taken out, leaving just a subtle flavor without any sugar, calories, or anything artificial.
Three winners get to try all four flavors – Organic Lemon, Organic Cucumber, Organic Blueberry, and Organic Mint – a 4-pack of each one! (I think Lemon is my favorite!) For a chance to win, head down to the comments and tell me what you do to try to spice up plain ol’ water/sparkling water. Anyone out there getting creative?
A few contest details – it runs through midnight EST this Friday, June 5, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter… and we will use random.org to pick the winners.

In the morning I fill a pitcher with my water for the day, and I add some chopped fruit. A favorite is peaches, and when I’m done with the water I eat the fruit.
The only creative thing I know to do with water is add a tea bag. And I love the taste of regular water, so there’s that.
BUT — I love the idea of water with no artificial flavoring. Yum!
I like to chop up cucumbers and put them in my water with a squirt of lime for a kick.
A couple of slices of cucumber at the bottom of the glass, sometimes with a chunk of lemon. Another option is chunks of cantaloupe.
I agree with the cucumbers comment. I have also crushed mint (which is very refreshing), added oranges and also ginger root. My standby at work is the drink mix-ins. I go through a ton of water every day with those. Gotta love adding flavor!
Okay, I’m already getting great ideas! I knew I could count on you guys!
I love blueberries! I started walking with my puppy 2 months ago! It really helps, and we could not bea funnier looking pair!
I put lemon in everything, not just tea. It sounds weird but it makes my drink a little fresher.
I’m not too creative with water, but I love the Crystal Light White Grape powder to put in my water bottles. Yummy!!
By the way, I love Sara D.’s idea of putting fruit in the daily water and eating it at the end of the day. I’m going to take that idea to my TOPS group tonight and try it myself.
I dont do the fruit in water think I just drink Ice tea or hot tea several times a day!
I love to make tea with my water!
I always squeeze lemon or lime in my water and then throw it inside. The fruit idea sounds good will try it.
I pour limeade into my ice cube trays and then freeze them. Then I plop one into my sparkling mineral water. It doesn’t work well with regular water, only sparkling.
5webs – Interesting idea – will have to try it! Does it not taste right in regular water?
A squeeze of lemon, lime, or orange and lots of ice for *texture* make water a bit more festive.
There are a number of things I do. I will half and half juice and water or I will cut off some fresh mint and add it to water.
I keep a pitcher of iced tea and one of lemonade (both Crystal Light) in the fridge and then I mix them half & half. Otherwise, I like my water plain because we have delicious well water.
I like to make a pitcher of decaffienated iced tea.I prefer plain water but will enjoy a glass of the iced about once a day.
I am so boring……ice water tastes just fine to me, but occasionally I’ll drink juice and sparkling water with a slice of lemon or lime and throw in a straw or swizzle stick to make me think it’s a summer cocktail!
I turn it into iced tea and that’s about it.
i don’t do anything but add ice
oh,
i did not know that knutson had a sparkling water. their natural sodas taste great!
count me in! lol!!
LOL olympicgirl – maybe an umbrella, too?!
I usually buy sparkling water that is unflavored. But when I want a little something different I like to add some POM pomegranate juice to it.
These sound so cool – please enter me!
Add fresh lemon or ginger
I harvest fresh mint sprigs from my garden and infuse them with warm water overnight- then I remove leaves and pour over crushed ice- stunning. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried it.
I put fresh lemons in my water with ice cubes
Never seen this before-now I will look for. My daughter wants the fruit flavor in her tea!!
chocolate whey protein!
I add lemon and sweet n low
Oh, I love the idea of these sparkling waters! Wish they had them in non-sparkling water too. Something on my list of things to try that a friend swears by is just sticking orange and other citrus slices in a jug of water. She says it imparts just enough citrus flavor to give it a refreshing twist.
Sliced lemon and lotsa ice!
I like it plain…with ice. We drive out a few miles from our house and get water directly from a natural spring. Free, and oh so good…
I either drink unsweetened iced tea or add a wedge of lemon or lime to my water.
limes, mangos, pineapple, lemon- dropped in and chiiled
I like to put sliced cucumbers in my water.
I add lemon juice and artificial sweetener – makes nice lemonade.
Thanks for the giveaway!
WOW…so many new ideas!! I prefer room temp water, so, I just add lemon. I also like hot water (I know-weird!) and teas. But i’d love to try some new stuff! Cucumbers?!?! HMMMMM….
well iced tea is as creative as i get but these drinks sound amazing…i would love to try the mint and cucumber
To Go Drink Mixes – I love the Acai flavor.
I add Crystal Light to my water.
I add just a splash of 100% fruit juice to filtered water. It really perks up the flavor without adding a lot of calories or artificial sweeteners.
I love any fruits in my water and unsweet teas
A little bit of cayenne pepper.
I usually just drink plain water, with occasionally adding trulemon and some stevia for an all natural lemonade. It’s delicious but this new product sounds great! I’d like to try it!

Just a squeeze of lemon juice helps

I make ice cubes out of pureed strained berries and add a few to my water ( great for getting kids to drink more water in summer too)
I put lemon in everything, not just tea. It sounds weird but it makes my drink a little fresher.
i have tried to mix sparkling water with tons of things, but it never seems to work out quite right.. i usually just opt for the flavored sparkling water instead!
I’m not very creative, i just use a squeeze of fresh lemon.
I don’t do anything to spice up my water, I just drink it plain. I would love to try these and see what I’ve been missing though!
I freeze lemon, lime, & orange wedges and throw those into my water instead of ice cubes. Keeps the water cold with a bit of flavor~
I love just plain old water as long as it is ice cold and I mean freezing cold. But sometimes I spruce it up by juicing a lemon and adding it to the water. It also helps me cut back on sodas.
I love to add fresh or frozen fruit. helps keep it cold too! my fave is really lemon, but I have be known to add strawberries and blueberries etc.
Knudsens looks great!
Hi Joannie – They’re new – just getting to stores this month!
Stephanie – Do you use canned fruit?
Kimberly – I never even thought to freeze citrus wedges – fantastic idea!
LOL – let’s see – sometimes I drink water in a red cup; sometimes I drink it in the blue cup. Sometimes I use ice; sometimes I leave it in the fridge to get cold. That’s about as exciting as I get.

good old lemon water
I use a simple squeeze of fresh lemon and/or lime.
LOL Barbara – you are creative!
Put cucumber slices in it, no kidding, it’s good
I like using crystal light. I get sick of that sometimes too though. It is surprising how much difference a slice of lemon makes to a glass of water too.
i like to use koolaid ice cubes in mine.
I Put lime and some mint in my sparking water–sort of like a virgin Mojito.

Just a wedge of lemon!
a little lemon works for me
I add a little cranberry juice to my water; just enough to flavor and color it.
Cucumber water (cucumbers period) are SO refreshing.
We saw something “creative” at a large fresh food market that specializes in produce, meat and fish/seafood: at the checkout line they had cucumber slices all along the counter to eliminate the fishy smells! It worked!
I add Cystal Light Lemonade to my water
I love all the flavor additions on the market made to add to water. They’re low calorie and make me drink more water so that’s awesome. I use the little single serving size pouches. Sparkling water is good on its own though!
I like to put fresh fruit especially oranges in water.

Salleefur – So interesting that they used the cucumber slices to get rid of the fishy smell! Makes sense that it would work, but I’ve never seen it done.
I pour a tiny bit of juice into glasses of water–it gives you a little bit of a fruity taste, but without the over-powering sweetness (or calories!).
I don’t add anything to spice it up. I drink it plain.
I get those Chrystal Light to-go packs. Can’t stand our local water. Ugh.
This comment doesn’t count since I already left one re: the cucumber slices at the check out counter to absorbs smells and leave a fresh scent.
What I forgot to mention is that we often make ice cubes out of our favorite fruits or fruit juices and add them to plain or sparkling water. Yum and very low calorie (depending on what you use to make the ice.
Another good one (weird as it may sound) is to simmer fresh basil leaves in water (you can add a splash of white or blush wine). Cool and strain. Use to make ice and add to water. Amazingly refreshing – work wonderfully with fresh mint, too.
(Again – if this comment is the random winner you should choose another random comment since I already entered earlier. This isn’t an entry – just a comment!
COMMENT NOT AN ENTRY!
Looking over the other comments that ARE entries – Shannon222 reminded me that my husband makes a “tea” out of fresh gingerroot (shredded or sliced and put through a fine strainer and then makes ice out of the cooled “ginger tea.”
Also, you can make a tea – and then ice cubes out of citrus ZEST instead of the fruit itself – that really is an essence!
Obviously, I prefer cold/ice water, though I know that water at room temperature is actually better for you.
add cinnamon to my water.
Beverage
Our thirst in the summer is quenched with ice tea. I love carbonated drinks but the icy tea is our main beverage.
Just lemon, sugar and ice
slices of orange are the best,,,very refreshing
Hi Salleefur – Wow, you have a lot of great ideas! Basil does sound odd, but I can see how it would be good. Thanks for stopping by again.
