Not getting enough sleep can make you more than tired and cranky. New research shows lack of Zzz’s can lead to weight gain or make you have more total body fat. Other research has shown similar problems when children don’t get enough sleep.

I can absolutely believe this. I’m only now starting to pull out of chronic sleep deprivation thanks to my second child. I found that my metabolism went to the dogs while so sleep deprived, and it’s hard to motivate yourself to do anything active when you’re so tired. I’m still trying to reclaim my body after such an extended period of tiredness!

Good! I’m off the hook. Not only is the baby responsible for my baby weight fat, but the baby-never-sleeping-and-won’t-give-momma-no-sleep is responsible. So long as it’s not my fault. Now I can rest.
