All I can say is ewwwww!
It’s still rare, but a new study shows tapeworm infestations from eating raw salmon tripled from an average of 0.32 cases per 100,000 people each year in Kyoto, Japan, to at least 1 in 100,000 people in 2008. The worm has apparently spread as more people eat sushi and undercooked fish around the world, including the U.S. Did I already say ewwwww???

My grandmother used to tell me a story about how she got a tapeworm before I was born – something about pork.
That story would scare the hell out of me. And you just reminded me of it! Now I’m freaking out again. Yikes! (I’ll never eat raw sushi)
Yum Yucky – Please remain calm.
Yuck! That freaks me out. I always order salmon when I eat out and have noticed that they put the little * by it to indicate “eating raw or undercooked fish..blah blah blah” Does that mean they don’t cook salmon all the way through at restaurants? I am a HUGE fan of overcooking all my meat by at least 20 minutes (just ask my husband, I’m not allowed to cook chicken!)
OMG Katie – overcooking by 20 minutes??? LOL!
