Since I recently switched from the artificially sweetened brands of yogurt to the creamier, healthier, preservative-free Greek yogurts, Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt (made by Stonyfield Farm) has been one of the brands I’ve been buying.
Besides tasting good, having twice the protein of regular yogurt and fewer carbs, I also like how Oikos treats the earth. It gives 10% of its profits to programs that protect and restore the environment.

This week, Oikos is giving one lucky FFTV member a prize pack filled with:
1 Free 16 oz Oikos coupon
5 Free 5.3 oz Oikos coupons
$4 worth of other Stonyfield coupons
100% organic cotton Oikos T-shirt
Reusable Stonyfield shopping bag
Since Oikos is all about being organic… to enter for a chance to win, tell me what organic foods you eat and why. Me – I finally switched to organic milk – the thought of growth hormones in a lot of the milk out there really got to me.
See you in the comments!
Contest runs through midnight EST this Friday, October 2, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter, and we will use random.org to pick the winner.

woo-hoo! Gimme gimme free stuff! Gimme Gimme yogurt. Gimme Gimme money(??) well, I can try, can’t I?
Organic veggies to stay away from pesticides….and love organic greek yogurt – rarely eat regular yogurt anymore!
Whatever I can afford!! I try to get organic produce when it’s in season – especially the ‘big eight’. I also try to buy organic dairy and meat when I can. If money wasn’t a concern it would be all organic for me!!
I’m a huge fan of greek yogurt. I eat organic (and local) whenever I can…especially in dairy and fruits and vegetables. It’s better for me and the environment.
I try and buy the organic vegetables whenever I can.
I joined a CSA this year that provides me with yummy organic vegetables and pretty organic flowers. And I’m helping to presearve local farmland!
We don’t go out of our way to buy organic. But we do a lot of shopping in our local Co-Op store, and most of the produce there is organic, as well as all of the products they sell are part of Fair Trade.
I’m with wirlwindamy. Having a large family, finances do come into play. My family has a grapefruit & orange tree. Also my brother & his wife have a massive garden. So I reap the benefits:)
I LOVE Greek yogurt! We are kind of half and half on buying Organic products. I buy organic milk and various other organic products, but most of my produce (during the non-summer months, at least) is conventional, mostly because the selection of organic produce here is lacking. When we do buy organic, it’s because of what it doesn’t have – antibiotics, hormones, pesticides.
looks yummy
Everyone keeps raving about greek yogurt and I have never tried it! As for organic, whatever I can afford! The budget is super tight & organic is expensive…but I did grow veg in my garden this summer!!
Trying to start buying more organic. I would love to try the greek yogurt.
Pretty much everything that I eat is organic, or mostly organic, including hemp milk, nuts, produce, cereals, and tofu products. I don’t eat meat, but the meat that I buy for my husband and kids is also organic.
i love this yogurt. it is awesome. thanks for the chance to win!!!
I try to buy a lot of my fruits and veggies organic. But I mostly buy organic if it’s on sale.
the only meat we eat, chicken is organic, as well as our apples.
To tell you the truth, all of the food I consume isn’t organic. There are the guilty indulgences (hot cheetos) and it’s also been harder for me the last year financially to consume natural and healthy products. But there are some things I don’t comprimise on: fresh produce and meat. Trader Joes, Mother’s Market (OMG my fave place), and Sprouts are my fave places to shop.
I try to buy organic apples and grapes (when I can fit them into my budget) because they supposedly have the greatest concentration of pesticides. I also try to buy organic, cage-free eggs. I would love to be able to afford organic milk, but sadly I can’t right now
I keep saying I want to try the Oikos Greek Yogurt, but have this small bit of “fright”. I love yogurt but am very picky & tend to be a little freaked out by “bitter” yogurt (remember yogurt for the 70s? YUCK!). Ok, I just might toughen up and go for this. You better be speakin the truth! LOL
Bev
I would love to try this..organic foods can be pricey and I feel so bad for those of us that can’t afford it. How do you pick winners? I really wish to win stuff someday..:)
I try to buy organic as much as possible. I usually get organic veggies, fruits, and soy products. Who needs pesticides anyways.
The only organic food I eat consistently are the grape tomatoes I’m growing with my own widdle hands.
Oh, and I buy the no-hormone, cage-free, etc. eggs. Other than that, I go with what the budget allows.
Myles – Yes, Greek yogurt is great, isn’t it!
wirlwindamy – What are the ‘big eight’?
Joanna – I am trying to eat more local, as well. Thanks for stopping by.
Sara D – I’ve heard a little about CSA’s – how does yours work?
LissaL – so cool that you have a grapefruit and orange tree. I’m so jealous!!

5webs – I have never had hemp milk. What does it taste like?
ladyspy79 – what are hot cheetos???

angelace07 – love your pesticides comment.
Cammy – You’re growing your own grape tomatoes??? How’s that going? Very cool – I totally need to get with it!
Hello!
I followed you here from Lance’s blog.
I buy anything organic I can, even some snack foods. I did recently try the Greek yogurt and I like it. Organic is more expensive to be sure, but I think it’s definitely worth it because of the healthy benefits
Hi Keith! Thanks for stopping by! I will check out your site, as well.
we drink organic soy milk, eat organic tofu and eat organic yoghurt. I also try to keep an eye out when organic fruits and veggies are on sale at the supermarket or buy them at the farmers market when I can get there. We also tried growing our own organic veggies over the summer.
I like Organic cereals/oatmeals!
What a great idea. I’ve never had Greek yogurt, so I would love to try it.
i eat organic fruits and vegetables, because of the pesticides and drugs that they usually spray on these produce to help them grow.
I try to buy organic soy products (tofu and soy milk) and also organic peanut butter.
Now that our garden has been put to bed, we are forced to buy produce again. Fortunately, the closest food store to us is Trader Joe’s. Going there got us in the habit of eating more organic foods and we discovered that many of his own brand of foods are superior to the big name brands. Unfortunately it’s a little pricey but totally worth it.
Fruits and vegetables.. because I can find them cheaper.
