Mmmm… almond butter! I love the stuff. I actually only tried it for the first time a few months ago, but I was instantly hooked, probably because almonds are my favorite nut. Then I heard about Barney Butter – an all-natural, no-stir almond butter. What? You don’t have to stir the oil? Genius! And as I soon found out – tasty, too!
Barney Butter is good stuff. It’s named after it’s creator, Jennifer Barney, who sent me some samples to try. So far, I’ve been enjoying the Smooth variety on protein pancakes, in smoothies, and by the occasional spoonful straight from the jar.
Jennifer started making the spread at her home in Fresno, California. Before she knew it, it was a big hit with her family and friends. And in 2006, she launched her Barney Butter business. You can read more of her story here.
Two other great things about Barney Butter – you don’t have to refrigerate it, and it’s made in an almond only plant, so you don’t have to worry about peanut traces if you have allergies.
This week, Barney Butter is offering one FatFighterTV member 2 jars of its almond butter spreads – one Smooth and one Crunchy. To enter for a chance to win, just tell me how you would eat your Barney Butter. Straight up? BB&J sandwich? In a sauce?
See you in the comments!
Contest runs through midnight EST this Friday, October 23, you have to have a U.S. mailing address to enter, and we will use random.org to pick the winner.

Mixed with vanilla yogurt…

I have it with PB all the time, and this would be a fun change!
Mmmm… Lance – that sounds so good with vanilla yogurt!!
Why have I never thought of putting nut butters on pancakes!? That’s what I’m going to do if/when I win
BRILLIANT!
Oh, girl, I use nut butters as the secret ingredient in my bison chili! Shhh, don’t tell though. I also discovered that almond butter on a toasted Arnold Whole Wheat Sandwich Thin with a few chocolate chips sprinkled on top tastes just like s’mores! Yay almond butter!
I would put my Barney Butter on Sweet Potatoes!! YUMMY!!
I like them in oatmeal, on an apple or carrot sticks and in yogurt
I’d take a giant spoon and scarf it down right out of the jar.
Caroline – I have heard of PB used in chili before but have never tried it. And wow – I love your s’mores idea. Must try that for sure! Good to see you – how are you?
wirlwindamy – Hmmm… maybe that’s what I should do – I don’t like Sweet Potatoes, but the almond butter may change that.

Thanks for the contest.
I would make almond butter cookies with it
I usually eat Trader Joe’s Almond Butter, but this stuff sounds good. I eat it with sliced apples, usually at breakfast or in the afternoon about an hour before I go to the gym. Although I have been known to just grab and spoon and eat it straight. I have pretty much given up peanut butter, except the PPB I sometimes use in smoothies. Almond butter rocks and I bet Barney Butter is even better.
Love Barney Butter! I would use it on toast with banana, waffles or straight up! Sooo good.
Mmmm Gossipista – Pretzels in PB sounds good! I will try it with the BB for sure!
Pat – I always see pics of Ants on a Log, but have never tried it!

I would add honey to it, mix well, add a packet of Instant Oatmeal, mix well, roll into balls and stick them in the fridge until they become slightly firm. Instant, protein-rich dessert food.
I like to eat almond butter on toasted frozen waffles. I also like to have it with cherry jelly. I love almond butter and we eat it instead of peanut butter in our house. Our favorite is the raw, unsalted creamy type. It’s so good for you too.
moonduster – Wow, that sounds good! Do you just use plain Instant Oatmeal?
I would put Barney Butter in my oatbran with chocolate chips and a smashed banana. I’ve also heard that almond butter goes well with grilled chicken, so I might do a wrap with grilled chicken and lettuce. Yum! Thank you for this giveaway!!

I’d make a good old-fashioned BB&B sandwich- Barney Butter & banana, and maybe a little Marshmallow Fluff if I had it!
I’d also use it in place of PB in my PB cookies recipe. That’s be good for the chunky style.

I received the Barney Butter yesterday and my son and husband immediately tried the chunky style on some crackers which was a hit. I used the smooth in a white bean hummus andits light flavor was great. It made it smooth and creamy without overwhelming the flavor. Definitely a different taste then tahini but I liked it alot. I am going to try it with chicken satay as part of the dipping sauce. I bet it will be excellent
Amykr – Glad you are liking the BB so far! Yum – the dipping sauce sounds awesome. Send me the recipe once you make it and I will post it on FFTV, k?
