Is this for real? A Brazilian court has ruled that McDonald’s must pay a former franchise manager $17,500 because he gained 65 pounds while he worked there for a dozen years. The 32-year-old man says he felt forced to sample the food each day to make sure the quality was high, because McDonald’s hired “mystery clients” to randomly visit restaurants and report on the food.
The man also says McD’s offered free lunches to employees which added to his caloric intake while he was at work.
I’m not a big fan of McDonald’s, but come on. You’re blaming the chain for making you gain weight? Because you have no control over what you eat, right?

wow. It’s hard to think this is even possible…that this could actually even make it to court, let alone – win.
What’s next? People who feel compelled to stop at McD’s because they drive by it on their way to work…and then blame McDonalds for building the restaurant there? (it doesn’t see that far-fetched given what you’ve shared above…sadly…)

*sigh* Wrong on too many levels to count…
I am with Cammy…. ridiculous!
*sigh*….where to begin. Like Cammy, I believe this is ridiculous. We know we need to eat right and we know we need to eat healthy. What part of McDonalds says healthy to anyone?

As long as he was working for McDonald’s and his job was to taste the food there, even tough not officially stated, I find it right that the man should be payed a compensation for his weight gain.
Really? Someone should’ve told him that no one forced him to eat the food or work there. & it’s not like McDonald’s doesn’t sell options that are healthier than burgers or nuggets!
