When I saw Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) on the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) list of harmful food additives to avoid, I wanted to know more about this chemical. Not just why it’s used in foods, and which ones, but what it looks like. So I bought a bottle of BHA to find out, and to show you just what’s in your food.

On a side note, I have been planning the What’s In Your Food? video series for nearly a year now, but kept getting sidelined! Things seem to be on track now, and there will be plenty more videos coming regularly. Stay tuned.

This BHA has made me more worried about my Daily food habits. I usually Buy the Ready to cook and eat type of foods because I don’t get much time from my job, I didn’t care about checking the ingredients in them. Now I Need to check it! Thanks for drawing my attention towards it.
UGH Sahar! It is so hard to keep up with all this stuff these days! I am a label reader but soooooo much out there! Thank you!!!!! I don’t eat cereal or potato chips or chew gum.. but going to check my labels better. Thank god I eat mostly all whole foods!
I know – I feel the same way – glad i eat mainly whole foods. It’s rough out there!
Sounds like hazardous waste….not a secret ingredient
