Young children exercise a lot - an average of three hours a day when they’re nine years-old, says a new study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. But by the time they’re 15, their daily physical activity is down to just 49 minutes on weekdays and about a half-hour on weekends.

Eating nuts while you’re pregnant may create some problems for your kids. A new report from the Netherlands finds expectant mothers who eat nuts or nut products like peanut butter every day raise the risk their children will develop asthma by 50 percent.

You might want to turn the television off when your kids are eating. Canadian researchers say kids who watched TV while eating lunch had 228 more calories than those who ate with the television off.

If you gain too much weight while you’re pregnant, it might raise the risk of your child becoming overweight. A new study from the University of Pennsylvania finds children whose mothers gained more than the recommended amount of weight during pregnancy were 48 percent more likely than other children to be overweight at age seven.
