Author Bob Skilnik gives you nutritional information for more than 2,000 worldwide beers in this paperback guide. Does My BUTT Look BIG In This BEER? lists calories, carbs, even Weight Watchers Points for stouts, porters, bocks, wheat beers or just the simple American-style pilsners.

Last week, we showed you the latest about childhood obesity rates (they’re way up) and shared with you how experts say you should talk to your kids about diet, exercise, and their weight. Now, there’s another tool that can help your kids grow up healthy (and a super cute giveaway!!).

Did you know you can design your very own protein bar… then have someone else make it for you? Nice, huh? I just found out about this very cool website, ElementBars.com.

Not only do you get to pick what you want in your protein bar, you get to choose from all-natural ingredients – fruits, nuts, and sweets… then add a boost if you want – protein, fiber, or Omega-3. Make your bar chewy, crispy, oaty, or datey. Then give it a name!

Each bar is hand made and comes labeled with the custom name you choose along with the nutritional information.

I had a shot at this and it was really fun! The FatFighterTV bars I designed are chewy with chocolate chips, peanuts, flax seeds and soy protein. Very yummy! Only next time, I think I would go without the flax seeds – the taste was a little too strong for me.

But of course there are times when I’m tempted—it doesn’t go away entirely! But being aware is the most important thing, and following some of the tips/tricks I outline in the book, like remembering swaps, so if you have a cookie you can forgo the bread on your sandwich, etc., is so important.”

BTW, her boyfriend thought it was funny she was writing this book – good sport, huh?
